Yesterday was a big day for Microsoft. The software giant and its partners finally made the first Windows Phone 7 devices official with HTC, LG, Samsung, and Dell all on board. There are three handsets coming to AT&T (starting November 8th) , two to T-Mobile (starting mid-November), and one heading to Sprint early next year. We went hands-on with these WP7 phones and liked their speedy performance, intuitive live tile interfaces, and the Xbox Live games. Although not much differentiates these devices other than hardware design, the overall quality is solid.
Does Windows Phone 7 have what it takes to get Microsoft back in the smart phone game? Yes. Is it enough to beat Android and iOS? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out all the news and hands-on previews of the new phones.
