Windows Mobile 6.5 To Launch May 11th
April 17th, 2009 by Todd Haselton
In a blog post today, Microsoft said that Windows Mobile 6.5 would launch on Monday, May 11th at the Tech Ed 2009 event. We had a chance to go hands-on with the new operating system at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February and, while it’s an improvement over Windows 6.1, we were left hoping that it runs a bit zippier at launch. Microsoft has since said that it would release more stylish themes, too. Microsoft didn’t state whether or not its app store would be available at the time of launch. There haven’t been official device announcements for the new operating system either, but we’d expect a few new devices to follow in the weeks after the official launch. [via Engadget]
