This week, the tech world went tablet crazy with the release of two brand new Samsung slates, the 8-inch and 10-inch Galaxy Tab 3, along with the ASUS MeMO Pad HD 7. Of course, we reviewed all three of these Android-equipped tablets. But that’s not all: this smoldering week saw not one, not two, but seven laptops come through the LAPTOP Labs, and we’ve tested them all. Find full reviews of two new Lenovo notebooks, the IdeaPad U310 Touch and the ThinkPad Edge E431. We also critiqued three fresh Acer laptops: the Aspire E1-572, Aspire M5-583P and the Chromebook C710. Finally, we managed to squeeze in reviews of the Toshiba Satellite P55T, yet another Android mini PC and the LifeProof Nuud Case for iPad.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is a tweener in more ways than one. This 8-inch Android tabletis the medium-size tablet in Samsung's new lineup, sandwiched between the smaller and cheaper Tab 3 7.0 and larger and more premium Tab 3 10.1. At $299, the Tab 3 8.0 is also priced between the $30 more expensive iPad mini and $199 7-inch slates like the Galaxy Nexus 7. However, Samsung offers a good deal of bang for your buck, including a built-in TV remote, long battery life and a bright and colorful display. But will you feel at home on this tablet?
