Do you have an update for finding these functions or ability to synch with all Outlook functions on / for Android 2.1 (Motorola Milestone)?
- Email (multiple accounts)
- Contacts / address books
- Calendar: appointments, meetings, requests, assignments
- Tasks - must have
- Notes - must have, and not exlusively tied to emails
- Journal - VERY important for some of us that must track time and activity

Need a sware that does all this on Android and synchs with MS Outlook, or replaces all MS Outlook features and functions without any loss.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,
Marcus

Although I never used Outlook on my home PC, I did use it on my corporate PC, so I'm familiar with journaling -- and it's a feature I'd really like to see in Thunderbird (even better if it's got a built-in dialer!).

Has anyone added a journal to Tbird in the months since this article was written?

I weaned myself off about a year ago and have been using Lightning with Thundernote but would really like to find a note program that sync's with my windows mobile. Do you have any updates on items that you have found since you wrote this article?

Great guide, I'm giving up Outlook too. I have a droid and think it will work well by syncing google and thunderbird.

Like you I have recently made the leap from Outlook to Thunderbird and I'm loving every minute. The add-ons do provide FAR more functionality and it's my choice to install them. So if I want to create my own bloatware I can. My only problem, like you, is mobile phone sync. I have a symbian phone - Nokia N73 - at the moment and I can't find anything that sync's everything (incl contacts).

The closest I have found is paid software (MobileMaster) but it doesn't see the symbian contact file apparently. So right now I am missing quite an important tool.....any ideas?
