You may still be eating your Halloween candy and proudly displaying that jack-o-lantern on your front porch, but Wal-Mart wants you to know that holiday shopping season is upon us. The Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer just announced that it will be selling a $288 Compaq notebook this weekend, along with special discounts on LED TVs and a large discount on the PlayStation 3.
The Compaq CQ6-109WM features:
- 15.6-inch 1366 x 768 display
- 2.2-GHz Intel Celeron 900 CPU
- 2GB of RAM
- 250GB 5,400 rpm hard drive
- DVD Super Multi Drive
- 802.11n Wi-Fi and Ethernet
- Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
While it’s not the fastest computer around, the system does have enough performance to serve as a secondary family PC and is more than adequate for surfing the web, e-mailing, or word processing. It’s not very portable, though, so don’t expect long battery life.
Wal-Mart says the Compaq CQ6-109WM will go on sale this Saturday, November 6th and will stay that price until November 7th or while supplies last. The company is also offering a 26-inch Vizion LED TV for $198 and a PlayStation 3 Move bundle for $399 plus $50 gift card.
