VIA’s Nano CPU Destined for More Slim Notebooks
June 2nd, 2009 by Joanna Stern
Intel is making a big splash here at Computex with its ULV platform and its ability to create more affordable, yet very thin and light notebook designs. But don’t forget about VIA, who already had a head start with its Nano processor.
While we reviewed the Samsung NC20 ($399.99) with the Nano CPU a few months back, VIA was showing off a number of other 12-inch and 13-inch notebooks at its booth here in Taipei.
On display was the Lenovo S12, which we had a chance to play around with before it launched. The S12 was running Windows 7 ($77.54) and playing a 720p clip on its glossy screen.
We also checked out some of the other notebooks, including the 13-inch S30A from Tonfong that has a swappable optical/battery slot.
Check out our video below of a few of the VIA Nano powered notebooks on display.
