Verizon XV6900 Loses Touch Moniker, Gets White Paint Job

xv6900 smallerGiven that HTC has sold over 2 million Touch smart phones since its launch, we’re sure there will be more than a handful of Verizon Wireless customers who will want to get their fingers on this device for a little swiping action—even if its’ arriving 9 months after the Sprint Touch. Was it worth the wait? Other than a “pure white” makeover, there’s not much to distinguish this Windows Mobile 6 Professional device from the Sprint version, but we think touch phone fans will want to take a look. We still dig the TouchFLO technology and cube interface, as well as the enhanced home screen that provides quick access to e-mail, weather forecasts, and more. But if you’re looking for a smart phone that supports Verizon’s V Cast music and TV services, look elsewhere. At least Verizon includes support AOL, Yahoo, and Windows Live services. In general, we prefer smart phones with physical keyboards, but if you’re in the market for an iPhone alternative on Verizon, the XV6900 looks to be a decent choice. It will be available in late April for $249 (after online discount and $50 rebate). Full specs after the jump. XV6900 Specs (from Press Release) • Built-in speakerphone • Bluetooth® v 2.0 with support for stereo, hands free, and headset profiles • microSD™ memory card slot with support up to 8 GB • 2.0 megapixel camera with video capture • 256MB ROM / 128MB RAM • 2.8” TFT-LCD touchscreen with LED backlight • 3.98” (l) x 2.35” (w) x 0.56” (d) • Support for Office Outlook Mobile and Microsoft Exchange® with Direct Push
