Its not out in Taiwan. I live in Taiwan and went to Gigabyte and was told September(Aug7). Referring to the English keyboard: It will have English and Chinese on the keyboard.

Hey!
Do you get the V-Version?
So, is there any Vista CD in the Package, or is it only pre installed?
I love linux, so i won’t use my Microsoft licence.
Is there any opportunety to choos, like on the IBM Laptop, where you get ask if you like to use the Windows before you can configure it, and then get some money back from the Manufracturer?

Hello!
I’m really interested in this UMPC, but I’m from Germany!
The sale in Germany starts in October, so i will buy a M912 form Hong Kong or Taiwan.
But there is a problem, they have only English Keyboards.
So, please could you check the keyboard, inspezially the size and the connector as well as the kable lenght!
May i can change the Keyboard with a keyboard out of the Eee PC!

does the keyboard “bend” as the one chippy tested? CCFL or LED backlight? any other changes compared to the one chippy showed us?

Well, you can propably use it for a bit of handwriting here and there. But only if no part of your hand touches the screen while you are writing…

I am curious…How can this be a Tablet variety notebook with no “inking” capability because of the “soft touch screen” as was noted in an earlier comment? What’s the point and am I missing something? If it could ink and if I could throw a cellular modem in it, I would be all over it.

How hot does it get?
The manual says that you shouldn’t close it immediate after using, this could be dangerous for the touch screen.
Is that true?

I would like to use the m912 also as a car-pc, putting it cosed under the seat controling it using my in-dash touchscreen.

Should I place it upside down, because the air vents are under the m912 so that the heat fly’s out of the casing not harming the monitor?

To answer a few questions:

1. Screen resolution is 1280×768 for the CCFL screen and 1026×600 for the one with an LED display. If it’s the CCFL one it’s not going to be very good quality wise (dark, poor contrast and mirror-effect).
2. The keyboard is the same as the one in the eee PC 901 and bends in quite a bit when typing (typing seems to be good though).
3. It’s a softtouch screen so no inking and no multitouch.
4. Price in germany is from 480-520€.
5. Battery life is about 3 hours surfing and maybe 3.5 or a bit more with wifi off.

Why do I know all this? I watched the live review from Chippy at umpcportal.com

I would be thrilled if the one Joanna is testing is the 912m version which would have the LED backlit screen.

most importantly,

7) INKING, can you do basic sketches/diagrams and legible handwriting via the stylus?
