Toshiba Unleashes Qosmio X305 Quad-Core Gaming Monster

x3051Decked out in a Rogue design with a high-gloss finish, Toshiba’s latest gaming rig isn’t exactly news to those who may have seen it pre-listed on Newegg.com for $2,499. But now Toshiba has made the Qosmio X305-Q725 official, and this 9-pound beast packs some serious horsepower for the hard core set. It all starts with Nvidia’s high-octane 9800M GTX graphics card, complete with a whooping 1GB of video memory, and a 2.0-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Quad Processor Q9000. That means the X305 should be able to plow through demanding titles like Crysis and Far Cry 2. To be clear, though, there are very few games out right now that are optimized for four cores. Toshiba promises that your gaming sessions will sound as good they look, too, thanks to  four Harmon/Kardon speakers that delivers virtual surround sound. Hate waiting for chapters to load? Then you’ll appreciate the X305′s combination of a high-speed serial ATA 320GB hard drive and 64GB solid state drive. A 1680 x 1050 display (sorry, no 1080p), DVD Super-Multi Drive (sorry, no Blu-ray option), and 4GB of RAM round out the key specs. We look forward to seeing how well the latest X305 holds its own against bang-for-your-buck gaming machines like the Alienware M17.
