Toshiba TG01 With Snapdragon Hands-On
February 17th, 2009 by Todd Haselton
We just had a chance to stop by Qualcomm’s booth and check out Toshiba’s TG01 smart phone that’s powered by Snapdragon. We were blown away by the 3D rendering during a game, and even more by the device’s 3D user interface that Qualcomm created. Perhaps what’s most surprising is that the device was running Windows Mobile 6.1, an operating system that’s typically quite sluggish. With Snapdragon, every menu selection was zippy. When we clicked into the media browser, each image was waving as a 3D rendered flag. When we selected a video to watch, the video icon shot towards the stream and an H.264 media clip began playing in a snap. We’re excited for future Snapdragon devices to hit store shelves in the United States. The Toshiba TG01 will be available in Europe later this year. Check out our hands-on video after the jump.
