Toshiba Announces New Satellites: M300, A300, P300, U400, and X205

Today, Toshiba announced five new entries into its Satellite line: The M300, A300, P300, U400, and X205 notebooks.

satellite_m300.jpgThe Toshiba Satellite M300 (starting at $949) is a 14.1-inch line featuring the Fusion finish with Horizon pattern, LED-illuminated “Feather Touch” multimedia keys, a flush-mounted mousepad that rests seamlessly across the palm rest, an integrated webcam and mic, a 250GB hard drive, 3GB of RAM, DVD SuperMulti drive, Sleep-and-Charge technology, and 802.11 Wi-Fi. Harmon Kardon stereo speakers with Dolby Audio serve up high-quality sound, and a DVD SuperMulti Drive (with Labelflash) is included for your multimedia needs. Windows Vista Home Premium, Intel Core 2 Duo chips, and X3100 integrated graphics power the system.

The Toshiba Satellite A300 (starting at $949) is 15.4-inch notebook line featuring the company’s sexy Fusion finish with Horizon design pattern, LED-illuminated “Feather Touch” multimedia keys, a flush-mounted mousepad that rests seamlessly across the palm rest, 802.11 Wi-Fi, DVD SuperMulti drive, a choice of 250GB/320GB/400GB hard drive capacities, 3GB of RAM, and Sleep-and-Charge USB ports for powering gadgets even when the machine is powered off.

Twin Harmon Kardon speakers with Dolby Audio provide rich sound, while a SPDIF jack enables 5.1 output. Under the hood runs Windows Vista Home Premium, and a choice of AMD or Intel dual-core processors. Select models will feature ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 discrete graphics (with 512MB of memory), and Regza Link technology.

The Toshiba Satellite P300 (starting at $949) is a 17-inch desktop replacement line featuring the Fusion finish with Horizon design pattern, LED-illuminated “Feather Touch” multimedia keys, a flush-mounted mousepad that rests seamlessly across the palm rest (and features a cool, illuminated strip), Harmon Kardon speakers, a choice of 250GB or 320GB hard drives, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, DVD SuperMulti drive (with Labelflash) Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, 802.11 Wi-Fi, Regza Link technology, and a webcam with facial recognition software. Windows Vista Home Premium comes pre-loaded, and users can select either AMD or Intel dual core processors. A fingerprint reader is available on the higher-end model.

satellite_u400.jpgThe Toshiba Satellite U400 (starting at $949) is a 13.3-inch line that incorporates the Fusion design, LED-illuminated “Feather Touch” controls, a 250GB hard drive, Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, 802.11 Wi-Fi, DVD SuperMulti drive (with Labelflash), a choice of 2GB or 3GB of RAM, and Harmon Kardon speakers that are familiar to the line, plus a biometric fingerprint reader Vista Home Premium and Intel Core 2 Duo chips are at the heart of this system. The Toshiba Satellite X205 (starting at $1,999) is 17-inch gaming line sporting dual Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT discrete graphics, a HDMI port, Harmon Kardon speakers with Dolby Audio, a SPDIF jack for outputting sound to a 5.1 set-up, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, a choice of speedy Intel Penyrn processors, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11 Wi-Fi, fingerprint reader, DVD SuperMulti drive (with Labelflash), 3GB of RAM, and dual hard drives totaling either 320GB or 400GB.
