Microsoft is ramping up for a major update to Windows 8, codenamed Windows Blue, which adds a ton of new features to an operating system that has turned off some consumers. An early version of Windows Blue recently leaked online, and we got to try out some of the new features, such as detailed settings options and additions to the Charms menu. These are the top 8 new functions in the leaked build of Windows Blue.
Windows Blue has a plethora of new settings options, giving users even more control over their PCs. When you click on the Settings icon in the Charms menu and drill down to the Change PC Settings screen, there are various new tabs, including Apps, Home and Lock screen and Network.
The Apps settings will allow users to specify the default apps for certain actions in Windows 8, while the Home and Lock screen settings customize the look and feel. Network preferences make connectivity changes and VPN settings fast and easy.
