After much anticipation, Google has finally announced the latest version of its Android operating system. Android Jelly Bean 4.3 offers a handful of new features and enhancements that should improve your overall user experience. Updates to the OS include general performances upgrades, support for high-performance graphics via the OpenGL ES 3.0 standard, Bluetooth Smart technology support, restricted user profiles and more. The first device to come with Android 4.3 preloaded will be the new Nexus 7. Here are the top five features of the latest OS.
Jelly Bean 4.3's new multi-user support with restricted profiles option lets device administrators (parents) create individual environments for each user (kids) complete with profile-specific limitations. Now parents can decide which apps should be available to a child's profile. Plus, adults can set maturity filters, and enable or disable features such as their device's cameras or the Chrome browser. Google says the feature will also be useful for guest users, shopping kiosks and host of other use scenarios.
