Top 25 Windows Phone Apps

Foursquare

Created by the founders of the original location-based mobile service Dodgeball, Foursquare allows smartphone owners to “check in” wherever they are. Prospective locations run the gamut from restaurants and bars to parks, offices, and sports stadiums. But why share your location at all? Simple: Not only does Foursquare make it easy to see what your friends are doing, checking in can sometimes unlock special offers on merchandise, as well as virtual badges for better bragging rights. Cool Mango-only features include pinning a Foursquare live tile to the home screen to display current updates from friends and a slick side-scrolling interface to showcase all major functions.

Windows Phone Apps hit over 50,000 as of late December and have since reportedly pushed past 60,000 (unconfirmed).

If you’re going to show off a youtube client, show off Youtube Pro. It’s recent, and it’s pretty slick. The default youtube app is nothing more than a glorified link.

The YouTube “app” isn’t even a real app it’s just a shortcut to the website in Internet explorer

Of the apps mentioned I’ve only used Marathon (the first app I ever installed, had it on my old windows mobile, too) Facebook, and Accuweather (although somewhat redundant for those of us that have HTC Hub). I use Rhapsody for music (Zune doesn’t stream well) and I found Dictionary.com app handy for when I use a word in a sentence and someone asks: what does that mean. Throw my phone and say, “look up”. there’s also a “google maps” app gMaps that isn’t too bad, but the it’s ad supported unless you buy.

other apps I’ve used, Adobe Reader (wish FoxIt was available), Soduku (Microsoft Games– never played before), the HTC ones, especially attentive phone: flip for speaker works 99% of the time.

Also don’t forget that your “‘Me” tile has a “check in” function. And the search function to for text/barcodes and the search function for music identification (works very well for me)

I am surprised that Weave – RSS news feeder did not make the cut. it is the best news feeder i have ever come across. It is beautiful, customizable, and fun to use. I love getting all sorts of news from all perspective from U.S. news to news from all around the world. Everything from cooking to music to getting just microsoft news to politics, religion, and the list goes on and on. Hands down the best app i ever come across for news.

Spotify… seriously? That app is horrible. I love the service but the app is very weak and the sole reason I do not pay for the Spotify service. Rdio is a way better app, although not perfect, either. And the facebook app is actually pretty weak, too.

  8. Russ Says:

I can’t even find the gmaps pro app anymore… Do you know where it went?

  9. Rob Says:

Anything Tracker. It’s a real gem, I use it every day.

  10. Adnon Says:

Evernote is fantastic! Found it on this site and now use it every day!

How To Change operating system On HTC Radar with Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional or Android?

  12. Michel Maes Says:

Les jeux sont fait. Nokia est coincée avec WP8 suite à l’aide d’un milliard de dollards fournie par Microsoft et Samsung lâchera Android quand Tizen sera au point. Le superbe Samsung Ativ S est désormais un objet de collection.
