TomTom Announces Go 2505 M Live GPS Device And HD Traffic in U.S.
January 5th, 2011 by Meghan J. McDonough, LAPTOP Web Producer/Writer
Today, TomTom announced their newest connected in-car GPS device, the Go 2505 M Live, which, for the first time in the U.S., features TomTom HD Traffic and IQ Routes. These services pool optional anonymous data from other TomTom users on the road to create a snapshot of how fast a street moves at different times of the day. By combining user information with historical data, the GPS will give users the fastest route possible including re-routing drivers to a faster street if needed. This technology has been available through TomTom in Europe, but this is the first time that U.S. drivers will be able to take advantage of it.
The Go 2505 M Live has a 5-inch touchscreen with pinch-to-zoom, hands-free Bluetooth calling, voice recognition, the company’s suite of Live applications, including lowest gas prices, local search capability, and weather. It’ll be available by the middle of this year for $349 and comes with a trial subscription of Live services.
