This week we got to test out AT&T’s iteration of the HTC One, as well as the LG Optimus G Pro, which, at 5.5 inches, is a monster smartphone with a crisp full HD display and multitasking features. We also got our hands on the Kupa X15, a Windows 8 tablet for the security conscious and an e-reader underdog that boasted an even brighter and more backlit display than Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite and Barnes & Noble’s Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight. But which one of the products we reviewed this week earned LAPTOP’s highly coveted Editors’ Choice award, if any?
This $1,599 Windows 8 tablet was designed with the security conscious in mind, providing a built-in fingerprint reader. Plus, its 10.1-inch, 1920 x 1200-pixel display rendered crisp images and vivid colors. Packing a 1.9-GHz Intel Core i7 2517U processor, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, the Kupa X15 delivered solid performance, blowing past the category average on PCMark 7 and Geekbench.
