I'm using my Asus Eee PC 4G Surf (701) as a testbed for different versions of Linux. So far, I've tried out Eeebuntu, a customized version of LinuxMINT 5 Fluxbox and a custom install of Xubuntu 8.10 using the Array dot org kernel, Fluxflux-eee, a PCLinuxOS derivative, Backtrack 3, a pentest distro, and finally Crunchee, a version of #!CrunchBang Linux designed for the Eee. This latter distro is truly the cat's behind, and with Code::Blocks loaded, provides a nice compact platform for C development.

Why did people buy them if they have no use for them? Well, maybe this crashing economy will eliminate a lot of this useless spending. I have a MSI U100-432. Very nice netbook , once I got the correct driver from the touchpad manufacturer. There is little need for these small netbooks unless you travel. I would venture to guess that serious business travelers don't have theirs wasting away in their desk drawers...
