Nokia N810

After attending a press event about the N810 WiMax Edition and watching Nokia demonstrate the tablet with Wi-Fi connectivity only, we were wondering when we’d get to try the WiMax connectivity in person.

Fortunately, we got a chance this afternoon to connect the N810 to Sprint’s XOHM network and capture all the action on video. Unfortunately, we lost our connection in the middle of filming, but we’re confident that was just a fluke.

We’re in the very warm sunshine outside the convention center, and the N810 Internet Tablet WiMAX Edition was just officially announced. The announcement itself was rather dull, but we’ve got a few interesting details from the Q&A.

• The device will be available online and in retail in locations where Xohm is rolling out.
• Pricing should be similar to today’s N810.
• Nokia and Sprint are working on Xohm-optimized applications.
• Will be available in conjunction with Xohm launch. In other words, no firm details at all about availability.

Unfortunately, when Nokia demonstrated the device, there was no WiMAX connection available and the N810 was shown using Wi-Fi only.
