One of the downfalls of Bluetooth headsets are the button pushes and holds required to pair and control these miniscule devices. The BlueAnt V1 is different.

As the world’s first voice-controlled Bluetooth headset, the BlueAnt V1 allows users to easily control most functions using the ‘BlueGenie Voice Interface’. Simply speak to it while holding down a button, and the V1 will talk to you. You can ask it to “pair” and it will go into pairing mode; ask it for “battery life” and it will repeat back a percentage of power remaining.

The design of the headset is simple and its single activation button provides users with total control. The BlueAnt V1 is a Bluetooth breakthrough.

Today, we got a chance to look at the BlueAnt V1 bluetooth headset. Another bluetooth headset. What’s the big deal?

Actually, it is a big deal, because the V1, unlike other bluetooth devices, is voice-controlled. So you can actually ask your headset to pair itself with your phone, to tell you how much battery life it has left, or to call someone in your address book.

The idea of pairing via voice command is pretty neat, because pairing bluetooth headsets can be a real pain. A lot of the time, there’s a single button that turns a device on and puts it into pairing mode so the whole experience can be really confusing.

I’d love to just tell my headset what to do. Of course, I can also see myself getting into an argument with it if it doesn’t work as advertised.
