TabletKiosk TufTab Ready For Pen Input, Violent Falls

Need to walk around a factory, construction site, or actual war zone while you check your inventory, respond to e-mail, or fill out status forms? Then maybe TabletKiosk’s eo TufTab a7230XD a would meet your needs. The 7-inch UMPC sports an Atom Z530 processor, a resistive touchscreen, Windows XP tablet (though Vista/7 are options), 1GB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive (16/32GB SSDs are options), 802.11g, bluetooth, and optional 3G. The business/government targeted tablet also has a modular expansion system for attaching magenetic strip readers and other handy peripherals.

The system, has two different batteries, and a rugged design that meets the military’s MIL-STD-810F standard. It is also designed to survive at least a four-foot fall. We had a chance to see the TufTab a7230XD in person at IDF 2009 and were impressed with its ruggedness.
