T-Mobile’s MyTouch 3G Gets 3.5mm Headphone Jack, More Memory

February 10th, 2010 by Dana Wollman

Today, T-Mobile announced some spec bumps to its MyTouch 3G, which we reviewed last summer.  For one, the Android handset will now have a 3.5mm headphone jack, the lack of which we noted in our original review. It now has 288MB RAM (up from 192MB), as well as an 8GB microSD card.

In our original review, we also complained about the onscreen keyboard. The new MyTouch 3G contains Swype, a technology that promises to make the touchscreen typing experience faster and more precise.

Finally, the phone will also now come loaded with the following Android apps: Barcode Scanner, Music Player, myAccount, and Visual Voicemail.

The refreshed T-Mobile MyTouch 3G is available today for $149 with a two-year contract.

Worst phone I’ve ever had. Randomly locks up all the time, tried reseting it and doesn’t help. When it isn’t locked up it usually runs extremely slow. The battery is good for a smart phone, just playing music, not pandora, it’ll last about 6 hours. When the phone does work it is awesome, but the down time makes it not worth even looking at.
