Texting while driving is certainly an extremely dangerous behavior, as is manipulating mobile phones in general during automobile operation. SuperTooth believes it has a safer alternative in the SuperTooth HD, a wireless speakerphone that allows drivers to chat and even tweet hands-free.

Announced in the lead-up to the CTIA 2011 trade show, the SuperTooth HD clips to car sun visors and pairs with common smart phones such as BlackBerrys, iPhones, and Android devices via Bluetooth wireless networking. Equipped with two 5-Watt speakers, a 5.4-Watt amp, and dual microphones, the device is designed to be loud yet sensitive to driver voice commands.

Besides using the SuperTooth HD as a standard speakerphone, the company claims the product can also update social media services such Twitter and FaceBook, along with email, and SMS texts just by speaking. Sounds pretty interesting since it could give some slick Microsoft Sync style to cars other than Fords.  Expect the SuperTooth HD to cost $129 and hit store shelves by April.
