Sprint’s New Plans Guarantee Unlimited Data for Life

Sprint Unlimited My Way Plan

Just a day afterT-Mobile debuted its Jump upgrade plan, Sprint has answered with its own new plans that promise unlimited data for life. Starting July 12th, both new and existing Sprint customers can take advantage of the carrier’s offer by signing up for one of its new My Way or My All-in plans.

The new Unlimited, My Way plans features unlimited talk, text and data starting at $80 per month. However, you can opt for 1GB for data for $70 monthly if you’re looking to save money. You can also choose to add 1GB of hotspot data to your phone for $10 per month.

My All-In subscribers will get unlimited talk, text and data and 5GB of hotspot data for $110 per month per line. If you want to use your smartphone as a modem on a regular basis, this plan looks like the way to go.

So how do Sprint’s new plans stack up to the competition? Verizon’s Share Everything costs $100 per month for 2GB of data and unlimited talk and text (when you include the $40 line access fee for your smartphone per month). AT&T’s Mobile Share plan costs $85 per month for unlimited text, voice and 1GB or $100 monthly for 4GB of data.

T-Mobile’s Simple Choice plans are closest in price to Sprint’s new offerings. You can get unlimited text, voice, and data for $70 per month, but you also have to pay a separate $20 per month for a handset like the Galaxy S4. T-Mobile can also throttle your data speeds once you reach 5GB.

Overall, Sprint’s new plans look like a good deal, but the carrier now has to make the unlimited part worthwhile by rolling out more 4G LTE markets.
