Sony Adds “Splash” to Notebook Line
February 26th, 2008 by Joanna Stern
You can always count on Sony to add some “splash” to its laptops. Today Sony announced another special edition color line – its VAIO Graphic Splash Expression Collection.
Talk about “personal” computers: you can mix-and-match colors and patterns on the Sony site. You can choose from three different patterns (Victorian Lace, Flora, and Leaf) and three stylish colors (pink, blue, and black) for a variety of what could be either tasteful or tacky designs, depending on how you mix and match.
This next feature has to be my favorite.

To further customize these notebooks, you can select from four keyboard fonts including three new offerings: Bradley Hand, Copperplate, and Synchro (shown from left to right). Want to engrave “I can’t wait until the Sex+the City Movie.” You can, since free engraving is also available.
The catch: supply is limited to only 1200 pieces. These new PCs will be available in the VAIO FZ Series notebook line. Models will feature Intel Core 2 Duo Processors, DVD-RW drives (Blu-ray Disc drive also available), built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless technology and 15.4-inch widescreen LCD display.
They will start at an affordable $1,300.
