We’re getting closer and closer to the final four teams left in the 2011 Smart Phone Madness tournament!
Here’s what we said about the phones in the first round:
When we first saw the Palm Pre 3 at HP’s webOS launch event (check out our hands-on gallery), we were struck by its larger size–it has a 3.6-inch screen compared to the Palm Pre’s 3.1-inch screen–the 800 x 480-pixel resolution, and its large, comfortable keyboard. Inside, this 5.5-ounce device has a 1.4-GHz Snapdragon CPU, 512MB of RAM, and 8 or 16GB of internal storage. When it comes out this summer, it will sport a 5-MP camera on a back (with LED flash), a VGA camera on the front, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and mobile hotspot capability. While a carrier hasn’t been announced, we’re pretty sure plenty of webOS fans will be excited to get this device in their hands.
While it’s now been proved that the “4G” part of the Atrix 4G is kind of bogus, that doesn’t mean this Android 2.2 smart phone doesn’t have anything going for it. This Tegra 2-powered device has a near-iPhone like 4-inch qHD screen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, a front-facing VGA camera and a rear-facing 5-mp camera with an LED flash. The Atrix 4G also has the coolest accessories: A laptop dock that turns this phone into a mini notebook (complete with tab-equipped web browser), and an entertainment dock that, when used with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, lets you browse the web and watch movies on a large-screen TV.
