Skype to Launch BlackBerry Application in May

Today at CTIA in Las Vegas, Skype didn’t just announce its iPhone application, it also said that it would release a version of its VoIP application for BlackBerry phones. The application will be available as a Beta in May for the Bold and the Curve (other devices will follow) and it will allow you to IM and make Skype to Skype and Skype to landline/mobile calls. . During the press conference, Scott Durchslag , Skype’s Chief Operating Officer also noted that Skype has over 400 million users, which consume over 8 percent of the world’s international calling minutes. Skype has 52 million users in the United States, 148 million in Europe, 147 million in Asia, and 59 million in Latin America. Skype also said that it is now partnering with Nokia to preloaded the application on Nokia’s N-Series devices.
