Sirius XM Offers One Day Deal on Portable Radio
December 7th, 2010 by Brian Oliver Bennett, LAPTOP Senior Writer Today only, Sirius XM is offering a big $100 discount on its XMp3i mobile player. In a package deal costing $149.99, you get the portable player that accesses the Sirius XM satellite music service, a home kit allowing you to connect to your home entertainment system when not on the road, 30-days of free service, plus the ability to play Sirius XM content on your computer or phone.
Of course you’ll have to pay for Sirius XM service after your free month is up and music subscription plans start at $9.99 a month. By offering this promotion, it’s evident that Sirius XM is feeling the heat from Internet radio providers such as Rhapsody, Pandora, and even Microsoft’s Zune which offer both streaming stations plus all-you-can eat downloads for use when off-line. In any case, if you’re already a Sirius XM fanboy, but want to go mobile, this could be a sweet opportunity.
