Show Me the Touch: N-Trig Secures $24 Million of Funding
January 12th, 2009 by Joanna Stern
Today N-Trig, providers of the multi-touch technology in notebooks such as the Dell Latitude XT and the HP TouchSmart Tx2, announced that they have completed a fund-raising round of $24 million, and at the top of the list of investors is Microsoft.
With Microsoft integrating N-trig’s DuoSense technology in Windows 7, the release states that, “with this new round of funding, N-trig plans to continue working with leading OEMs to create multi-touch notebooks and convertible computers for the mainstream marketplace. ” The question on our minds is: when will those new notebooks be available? Some are saying the arrival may be as early as Summer 2009.
“The company also plans to announce more OEM design wins in the coming year,” says the release. Who is next on the list?
