SanDisk Intros First Thumb Drive With Backup Button
January 5th, 2009 by Dana Wollman
SanDisk’s Ultra Backup USB Flash Drive, announced tonight, is the world’s first thumb drive with a dedicated backup button. It’s for people who don’t know how to back up their files properly or, more likely, are just too lazy to. Using the included software, users can customize the files and folders they want saved when they press the button. Can’t be bothered to press the button? There’s also a set-and-forget option. Finally, it has password protection and AES hardware encryption. It will be available in April in 8GB ($39.99), 16GB ($69.99), 32GB ($99.99), and 64GB ($199) capacities.
SanDisk also redesigned its Cruzer USB Flash Drive. It will be available in April with capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB, and prices ranging from $24.99 to $99.99.
