Samsung Shows off New NC310 Netbook

March 23rd, 2009 by Joanna Stern

samsung_nc310_004leadSamsung is pulling the netbooks out of the woodwork. On the heels of our exclusive review of the Samsung N110 ($326.95) which will be available in the U.S. starting in early April, it is also appears to have the NC310 in store.

According to Akihabaranews.com Samsung plans to launch the NC310 internationally in Korea, Asia, CIS, Europe, and North America. From the images the NC310 seems to have a rounder chassis and a flush, bezeless screen. It also has a chiclet style keyboard similar to that on the ASUS  Eee PC 1000HE.

The full specs are not known but it appears to have a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 576 resolution screen, 1GB of RAM, 160GB  hard drive, Bluetooth 2.0 and, a 1.3 megapixel webcam. Additionally, its standard battery is rated for 5 hours but will be available with a larger capacity one that can last up to 11 hours. We hope to have more details soon on the U.S. availability of the NC310.

    1024 x 576? That is just pitiful!

Other than the mirror (ahem…. wayyy-too-glossy screen), the case and colors look beautiful. The initial technical specs, however, sound too familiar. I hope the price isn’t mostly going toward aesthetics.

Very good design of the Netbook NC310, as its acquisition is valued? Wish to purchase.
