Samsung N120 Reviewed, Dissected, Found Similar to Previous Samsung Netbooks

samsung-n120Looks like Samsung’s ever-growing netbook family just got a new member. Our friend Brad Linder of Lilliputing just got his hands on a new Samsung N120 netbook and reviewed it. He notes that the N120 looks like a cross between theĀ  more recent N110 and the “classic” (if you call a product from last October classic) NC10. He notes that the N120 is one of the widest notebooks he’s seen and that, accordingly, the keyboard on the Samsung N120 is the larger – by Samsung’s estimate, a full 97% of full size – than previous Samsungs and other netbooks. While he didn’t use the same battery test that we do, he noted that 5200-mAH battery lasted 6 hours during anecdotal use. Brad didn’t run PCMark, but he says that performance of the N120′s standard Atom 1.6-GHz N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB hard drive was on par with other netbooks that share these specs. Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, Netbook Italia dissected their Samsung N120 and took some interesting pictures of its innards. Not surprisingly, these too were nearly identical in layout to prior Samsungs, particularly the NC10. samsung-n120-guts The N120 is already available at numerous retailers, including Newegg and Buy.com,where it retails for $459.99 and $432.99 respectively. via Lilliputing

VERY nice unit. Best keyboard of the entire lot, I think.
