Samsung Jack Smart Phone Graces Blackjack Family
May 14th, 2009 by Todd Haselton
I think I’ll call it Trey. Today Samsung and AT&TÂ announced the “Blackjack III,” officially known as the Samsung Jack. This 3G smart phone the follow up to the super popular Blackjack series of phones, which includes the Blackjack (carried on Cingular in 2006) and the AT&T Blackjack II. Samsung claims it’s the number one selling Windows Mobile franchise in history. The latest version amps up the camera to a full 3.2MP with recording capabilities, adds in Wi-Fi support, and features GPS. You’ll also get all of AT&T’s over the air services like AT&T Mobile Music, CV, and MEdia Net. We had a chance to go hands-on with the phone earlier this year and were impressed by its keyboard. It ventures a bit away from the toothy spaced out QWERTY of the first two devices, but we were able to type just as fast. The grey coloring reminds us a lot of the Samsung Epix, but it doesn’t have the same touch screen. Stay tuned for live shots and more opinions as soon as we get our hands on a review unit. The Jack will be available on May 19th for $99.99 with a 2-year contract and after an unspecified mail-in-rebate.
