Samsung hasn’t even confirmed that a Galaxy S5 exists just yet, but that hasn’t stopped accessory makers from getting a head start. A website in the UK has already begun listing cases for Samsung’s next flagship smartphone.
Mobile Fun is currently advertising two cases from Trident dubbed Aegis and Kraken. Both cases, which are up for preorder, will be available in four colors including red, blue, green and grey. The $34.99 Aegis and $47.99 Kraken come with a shock absorbent layer of silicon and a hard polycarbonate shell for protection, and Trident claims that both cases are “designed to fit the Galaxy S5 perfectly.”
The product description mentions that the case will come with cutouts for ports and a camera cutout is visible along the back. The website doesn’t make any mention of a fingerprint scanner, but the camera hole does appear to be slightly more elongated. Trident doesn’t provide any dimensions that could potentially tell us about the Galaxy S5’s size, but the case does look a bit wider than the Galaxy S4.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Trident hasn’t even seen the S5 yet. The scenario was similar just before Apple launched its iPhone 5s and 5c when Hard Candy began unveiling accessories before the phones debuted in September. We’ll be on the ground in Barcelona covering Samsung’s Unpacked event, where the company is likely to announce its Galaxy S4 successor. Until then, we’d suggest holding off on ordering any accessories.
