Samsung is rumored to launch a miniature version of its flagship Galaxy S4 handset as early as this week, Sam Mobile has learned. Citing unnamed “insider” sources, the website reports that the S4 Mini will come in two variants: one will include a single SIM card and the other will support two SIM cards. The handset is expected to launch in Black Mist and White Frost, just like the standard Galaxy S4.
The Korea-based manufacturer has yet to officially announce any plans to launch a Galaxy S4 Mini, but rumors indicate that it will come with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED HD display with 256 ppi, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.2.2 out of the box. The alleged single-SIM Galaxy S4 is expected to come equipped with a quad-core processor, while the double SIM variant may come with a 1.6-GHz dual-core chipset.
Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Mini launched during late 2012 in the United Kingdom and looks nearly identical to its full-sized cousin. Packing a 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA 800 x 480-pixel display, 1-GHZ dual core processor, a 5-megapixel camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, the Galaxy S3 Mini comes with midrange specs compared to its larger counterpart.
Last week Sam Mobile allegedly obtained photos of the miniature Galaxy S4, which bears a strong resemblance to its larger sibling phone. The image depicted the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 Mini side-by-side to showcase the difference in size between each phone.
