Rumor: Samsung Galaxy 7-inch Android Tablet Specs Revealed

A few weeks ago we caught a glimpse of leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, a 7-inch Android Tablet that looks like the big brother of the Samsung Galaxy S phone. Today Engadget has a few more (rumored) details about the device, including that it’s name is the Galaxy Tape, not Tab.

Huh.

I really hope that bit isn’t true, because that doesn’t seem like a very good name. Tape? What does that even mean?

Anyway, Vietnamese site Tinh te claims to have more deets on the tablet:

• Android 2.2 (FroYo)
• 1.2-GHz A8 CPU
• 16GB (I assume) flash memory
• microSD slot, up to 32GB
• Super AMOLED display
• 4,000mAH battery
• 370 grams

The screenshot gives the impression that the Tape will also have Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. But again, this is all rumors. Though considering the pictures we’ve seen, I’m going to be cautiously hopeful that the product is real. Will it make me forget the Camangi WebStation or the Archos 7 Home Tablet? One can only hope.
