Rumor: BlackBerry PlayBook to Launch April 10th
March 2nd, 2011 by Avram Piltch, LAPTOP Online Editorial Director
Boy Genius Report is reporting that, according to “multiple sources,” the BlackBerry PlayBook will be available for sale starting on April 10th. RIM has not confirmed this date and, in fact, as recently as yesterday we attended a BlackBerry press soiree where we were told only that the device is due in “March or April.”
BGR also says that the BlackBerry Tablet OS which powers the PlayBook will be finalized on March 31st and that users who buy the first shipping version of the product will have to download an updat when they set up the device.
