papajohns.jpgIn between the headlines of violent attacks and armed robberies on last night’s local news, I caught this mobile oddity. Zahir Uddin of Norwalk, Conn., is a delivery guy for Papa John’s Pizza. He works hard for the money and has used his tips to buy the latest tech tools. Last Friday, April 18, while out making a delivery, his TomTom GPS unit and iPod were stolen out of his SUV, which was parked in the pizza parlor’s lot. By the way, it does appear that his car was unlocked. What the thief didn’t know was that it was caught on a surveillance camera aimed on the Papa John’s parking lot. Uddin and his manager at Papa John’s have posted the video on YouTube, but not without a purpose. His comments posted to his YouTube clip read: I worked very hard for those items, and would like whomever[sic] stole them to return them. My manager is offering a REWARD (FREE PIZZA FOR A WEEK) for the safe return of the GPS unit & iPod. No questions asked. Thank you for everyone’s help. Free pizza for a week in exchange for a TomTom and iPod?! Personally, I don’t think that’s a steal. What if it was our Editors’ Choice winner TomTom Go 720 with live traffic? Or the newest generation of the iPod? On the other hand, my coworkers are telling me Papa John’s Pizza is downright amazing. If I were the red-shirted thief, I’d probably hold on to the stolen tech, even if stealing is wrong. Your thoughts? Check out the posted surveillance video here. Via ABC News, New York
