You spoke, we listened. From the 140 laptops we reviewed this year, we selected 5 netbooks and 8 notebooks for you to choose from for our Readers Choice: Best Netbook and Best Notebook of 2010. The results are in. The Editors’ Choice-winning ASUS Eee PC 1215N walked away with 58.89% of the vote in the netbook category, beating out the Toshiba Mini NB305 (17.89%), Samsung NF310 (11.32%), Acer Aspire One 5432h (8.95%), and the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (3.95%). In fact, no one else even came close.

Things were more complicated on the notebook side, but in the end the Sony VAIO Z took 25.61% of the vote. Its closest competitors were the HP Envy 14 (17.54%), the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (13.51%), and the Apple MacBook Air 11-inch (12.81%). In the middle ground the Lenovo ThinkPad T410s held its own with 9.47% of the vote, just nosing out the Alienware M11x (8.95%). And bringing up the rear was the Dell XPS 15 (7.02%) and the Toshiba Satellite T235 (5.09%).

Tomorrow, look for our next Readers’ Choice polling to open. This time, smart phones!
