Readers’ Choice: Best of CES 2012 Winner Announced
January 12th, 2012 by Anna Attkisson, LAPTOP Managing Editor

LAS VEGAS — The people (you) have spoken. The voting was close, right up to the end. In fact, it looked at times as if the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga might come out on top. But your pick for the best new mobile tech from CES 2012 is the 13-inch Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook.
Taking home 46.9 percent of the votes, the Acer won over the crowd. This super sleek laptop weighs in at a mere 2.9 pounds and sports a slim 0.6-inch profile. To maintain its girlish figure and provide much-needed connectivity options at the same time, the Acer S3 has a “MagicFlip” I/O panel that flips out from behind the hinge to reveal HDMI, USB 3.0 and Thundebolt ports. Acer touts the S5′s long battery life and shock resistance.
Pricing on the Aspire S5 has not yet been released, and neither have some of the key components such as processor. But we can’t wait until this puppy hits our hands some time in May.
