Parrot has been producing some of the most well-known consumer quadcopters since the launch of the original AR Drone in 2010. Pilots control the AR Drone 2.0 using an app on their Android or iOS device via a Wi-Fi connection. This device doesn’t offer the greatest range (the craft can fly about 165 feet away from the control point) but it does provide an alternative to traditional joystick-based remote controls. The AR Drone even comes ready to fly with a video camera built in. The newest Power Edition boosts the battery life for three times the flying time of the previous model, allowing for 36 minutes of continuous flight.
