Parrot’s Party Black Bluetooth Speakers Official
April 1st, 2008 by Joanna Stern
Saying goodbye to the crackly, tinny music from your cell phone’s speakers will be easy with Parrot’s Party Black. Today the company officially launched the Party Black Edition, a portable and compact set of speakers that pairs with your stereo Bluetooth-enabled music phone or MP3 player.
Parrot gives you a choice: Stream your tracks to the speakers from any Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) source, such as a mobile phone, PC, or Mac, or plug your analog audio device (iPod or other player) into the 3.5mm line-in jack. According to Parrot, its rechargeable battery offers more than 8 hours continuous playback. The device sports a five-button user interface.
We will be checking out the Parrot Party Black here at CTIA. Parrot is also planning on demonstrating how these speakers support Near Field Communication which allows you to pair your phone with the speaker by just holding them close to each other. The Parrot Party Black Edition will be released in the coming weeks and is being priced at $144.
