PacketVideo TwonkyMedia Manager Software Gets Official
January 8th, 2009 by Dana Wollman
After a soft launch on the company’s Web site a couple weeks ago, PacketVideo’s TwonkyMedia manager software is official.
This software ($39.95) allows anyone with a Smart TV or media center extender to share photos, music, video, Web content, and Internet radio on a wide variety of devices in your home, including PCs, Macs, Xbox, and PS3.
Because it’s designed to integrate with popular programs such as iTunes and Photoshop Elements, TwonkyMedia automatically scans them for content. We like that users can drag and drop content in and out of the interface and create smart playlists (à la iTunes).
We’ll have to see it in action before making a verdict, but by the looks of it the interface is sleek and simple—the sort of thing we wouldn’t mind using across all these different devices.
