Opportunism Hits A New Low
March 14th, 2008 by Todd Haselton
Today started out like any other day. I brushed my teeth, showered, put on some mismatched socks, a backwards hat, and left my apartment. At the subway line, I grabbed a free copy of amNewYork magazine, a rag I hold somewhat dear to my heart. It’s a good way to avoid eye contact with the crazies on the subway.
I sat down on the tacky orange seats that are straight out of the 1970’s and looked at the front page, “The Business of Pleasure” was splattered across the front. It was an article about Eliot Spitzer, no doubt. But naturally, as a mobile technology fanatic, I saw an AT&T logo and couldn’t divert my eyes.
“Have you ever paid for sex?” it said, with the option to use your AT&T phone to text an answer to “2269.” Now I get it, it’s a poll done by amNewYork and is likely a random partnership advertisement, but I couldn’t help taking a picture to share with you. AT&T, “Your World (prostitute?) Delivered.”
Just look at the picture below.
