OLPC XO-2 Mock Up Shows Up at Davos
January 28th, 2009 by Joanna Stern
This week Davos, Switzerland is home to the World Economic Forum. Gathering with the leading political, economic and intellectual leaders of the world seems to be an early One Laptop per Child (OLPC) XO -2 prototype or mockup.
Tariq Krim, the founder of NetVibes and JoliCloud, caught a short hands-on shot of the mockup device. While we are pretty excited to see an OLPC XO-2 photo taken in the wild, it turns out that it was a non-working unit and is most likely the unit used to shoot the pictures that were released when the XO-2 was announced back in May. The X0-2 is OLPC’s next generation educational computing device it is planned to be an all touch laptop.
Either way, we still think the little device looks like money. Here is hoping that the next prototype we see turns on!
