This is one segment that has not benefitted from competition driving performance of Intel's boards. I hope Intel sees the benefits of such a collaboration as a means to sell more processors, as opposed to competition for its boards. Like the recent Apple switch from Intel boards to utilizing NVIDIA's 9400M on the MacBooks, I think this may be the time for performance gains due to GPGPU (versus the clock speed gains or the traditional multicore gains). It's not to say that Intel integrated graphics cannot be accessed via OpenCL, but NVIDIA appears to be leaps ahead in this regard.

While massive performance gains are unlikely in any scenario with netbooks, the efficiency of Ion may be a huge determining factor for consumers.
