Clarification: $229 is the price before your mail in rebate. So if you aren't up for your mail in rebate you pay $229. If you are up for it, then you pay $229 and then get a $100 check in the mail.

If you actually listened to whoever told you the price...you would know the 400+ price tag is the retail price...they are currently doing a sale on them IN ADDITION TO YOUR MAIL IN REBATE.. Making the phone 229. And FYI for this phone your rebate is reduced to $100. Because if once again you paid attention, your 2 yr rebate is UP TO $150, and your 1 yr rebate is up to $75.
AND HELLO GENIUS, with the Mexico call, IT"S OUT OF THE UNITED STATES. It costs more when you don't have an international plan no matter what country you call from except for of course yours. That's why people who ask questions like that before they live the country know they have to buy a mexico calling card. And I believe all of Sprint's plans are only NATIONWIDE.

I am not saying they have good customer service through they call center because trust me they don't. The employees at the stores are so much better. But don't complain when you did not know what nation wide meant.

And I have had them for 10 years, and when there as been a REAL mistake on my bill they have always fixed it. And if it was just me not understanding, they explained it. Or I went on the site and researched before i called and made a fool of myself.

(ignore the grammer or spelling mistakes...I type to fast and I could care less if I make mistakes on some blog reply)

I wish phone mfgs. would realize how important the web browser is to making our decisions on which cell phone to buy...for me.it is the #1 factor...if only Samsung had picked my brain while designing the Instinct.

So what phone do I own?

I had an iphone for 3 months and sold it to buy the Lg Voyager. The Voyager browser is underrated. The last firmware upgrade really sped up the web browser by allowing scrolling before a page is fully loaded. And zooming in and out is quick and easy.

omg are you serious 499.99 its just a phone its not like a blackjack or some high tech phone! I think since sprint current customers gets the phone first we should only have to pay 129.99 like everyone else.

I just spoke with Sprint and if you are a current customer and do not have the full 150.00 upgrade eligibilty, the phone actually costs 499.99. I am one current Sprint customer who will not be purchasing the INSTINCT phone.

Sprint must have one of the worst customer service organizations of any company in any industry - and where is management on this issue? I would never go back to Sprint - even if they priced their phone at $1.00. I hear stories all the time from friends about Sprint trying to over-bill them and then having to waste hour upon hour to get it resolved. My husband and I were Sprint customers at one time. But, they gouged us too. While on vacation 3 years ago, we used our Sprint calling card to make a quick call back home - no more than 10 minutes. We got the bill a month later for $300 for the one call! Sprint claims it was an operator assisted call - when it was most definitely NOT. We were calling from Mexico - not some far-flung part of the world. We tried to get it resolved, but they refused to even let us speak to a manager. They sent the bill to a collections agency and that was that! My husband was a loyal, high-spending Sprint customer - 15 years, 3 lines at home, plus other services (and I was working for another telco at the time and he wouldn't even change the lines at home, he was so loyal!) You'd think with the cost of acquiring new customers being so high - they'd treat you a bit better. It's a shame because they were a good company at one time.

Sprint overcharged my small (US) company for over $50,000.00. We caught them doing it and now they refuse to refund the over-payments. You can read the full story at www.sprint-really-sucks.com

I also wrote an open letter to Dan Hesse the Chairman and CEO of Sprint Nextel. It is a good read so please consider reading the letter.
