October is shaping up to be one of the biggest months in mobile in a long time, with Apple and Nokia set to host events Oct. 22. Now comes word that Google may debut its anticipated Nexus 5 smartphone and Android KitKat on Oct 30. Why is there reason to believe that? A Nexus 5 case listed on Amazon Italy is shown as being available on Oct. 30.
An earlier rumor pointed to the Nexus 5 making its debut on Oct. 28. The device will reportedly include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5 to 5.2-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel facing camera with Nikon technology.
Since it’s a Nexus device, the Nexus 5 will also launch with Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat. The OS is expected to offer improvements to the overall user interface, feature mobile payment integration, printing and Wi-Di support.
We’ll learn more about the Nexus 5 and KitKat as we get closer to the end of the month. Be sure to check back with us for the latest rumors and updates on both products.
