Newest Lumix Has Wi-Fi, 10X Zoom
April 16th, 2008 by Dana Wollman If money is no object, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ50 has all the accoutreme
nts you could want in a digicam. The $449 camera’s biggest draw is its 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connection, which allows users to connect to either a home network or T-Mobile’s HotSpot service, and upload pictures directly to Google Picasa. Users can upload multiple pictures at once, and can register an e-mail address so that they receive links to their Picasa albums. Users also get a complimentary year of HotSpot service, so they can upload photos in public, for free.
The TZ50’s other goodies include 9.1-megapixel resolution, 10X zoom, HD video recording, optical image stabilization, face detection, and Intelligent Auto mode, which detects the shooting environment and automatically adjusts the scene, ISO, and exposure. It’ll be available in May, so you’ve got a month to save up for one.
