New iPhone 3.0 Apps Include TomTom GPS

tomtom_iphone_sh One of the coolest parts of the keynote today were the app demos. Gameloft started by showing off Asphalt 5 racing game. You can use your own iTunes music as background music. 3D graphics are pretty sweet for the iPhone. Will allow you to purchase new cars and other stuff for 99 cents. Scroll Motion is bringing 50 major magazines, in addition to books, to the iPhone for on-the-go purchases. You can pinch to zoom pages and also use copy and paste directly into an e-mail, great for annotations. Also partnering with text book publishers to bring text books to the App Store. Iceberg Reader coming soon.   espn_iphone_shTomTom demoed its GPS app, complete with IQ routes feature and an accessory that can enhance your GPS signal and a loud and clear speaker. Will also power your iPhone will you drive. Will be available this summer. No word on pricing though. Hmmm. Looks good at least. Star Defense game also shown from ngmoco. Will be able to play head to head over the Web. Game is launching today, and this strategy title looks pretty sweet for $5.99. iPhone 3.0 software features like in-app purchases and multiplayer coming later.
