Went to look at it at Bust Buy. The overall impression feels rather cheap:( The attention to detail is lacking for a 2k laptop.

I actually own and use this notebook and it does sit on your lap, and is cooler than any other notebook. In fact it is easier to manage than my macbook air.

The capacitive touch latch mechanism which allows you to pop the unit open with the swipe of a finger.

Is a nice little Tube Actuator from TZ limited one of their many interesting latches

you may also be interested in their data center security system

they teamed up with Anixter for that one.

People can't just stop complaining if this laptop is not for you buy the one that is for you after all you can't buy all the laptop in the world it is impossible.

Great design DELL. You have not tested it on your lap to see how comfortable or uncomfortable your comfortability may be my uncomfortability. As I can see from the pics above the laptop was tilted about 120 degrees counter clockwise, I hardly see people tilt their laptop above that.

With that sitting on your laps the heat will not flow directly on your body which I also think is a plus.

@seamonkey420, if Apple were Microsoft and Microsoft were Apple the followers would have been saying the same thing.

This could be the sexiest laptop in the market.

I would be more intrigued if they had made the screen attach to the notebook in the normal way. Then this would be one nice looking and really thin notebook. what exactly is ULV? I googled it and it sounds like you give up horsepower for a longer battery life. For work, I still need to have lots of stuff up at the same time and some jumbo excel files, so I would only buy this for after work use.

Meh. I had high hopes for this. I'm a sucker for thin and light, but how on earth could you use this on your lap? It would be really uncomfortable and probably tip right over. Of course, if they lost the keyboard and stuck on a touch screen it would be the thinnest tablet ever. That would be cool. This, however...not so much. Nice try though! Applaud the innovation for sure. This isn't for me (or anyone?), but keep it up, Dell!

Ugly. The angle of the screen wouldn't work for me. Also wonder what the travel on that keyboard is like. Must be a mother to type on.

There might be such a thing as too thin...

This laptop looks amazing. However, I really don't like the way this notebook sits. I don't think you can put it on your lap.
